Package Questions
Common questions about choosing the right package for your situation
Which package should I choose?
Choose Cease & Desist for initial warnings, Takedown for quick domain suspension, Takeover to actually get the domain transferred to you, or Defend if someone has filed a complaint against your domain.
What are the additional filing fees?
Filing fees are paid directly to the dispute provider (WIPO, NAF, etc.). URS costs £375-500, UDRP costs £1,500-5,000 depending on the number of domains and provider chosen.
How long does each process take?
URS takedown proceedings take 4-8 weeks. UDRP takeover cases take 8-16 weeks. Defence cases follow the same timeline as the complaint type.
What happens if the case is unsuccessful?
Our packages cover the legal work regardless of outcome. UDRP decisions can be challenged in court within 10 days. We provide guidance on appeal prospects and can refer to litigation counsel if needed.
Can package prices be negotiated?
Takedown, Takeover, and Defend packages are subject to reasonable negotiation based on case complexity and circumstances. Cease & Desist packages have fixed pricing. Any work falling outside the defined package scope is chargeable at £475 per hour.
Is the Takedown package available for all domains?
The Takedown package uses URS (Uniform Rapid Suspension) proceedings for suspension-only outcomes, available for all new gTLDs (post-2012) and legacy gTLDs including .asia, .biz, .cat, .info, .jobs, .mobi, .museum, .org, .pro, .tel, .travel, and .xxx. The Takeover package uses UDRP or DRS (Dispute Resolution Service) proceedings for domain transfer, with UDRP available for virtually all domains and DRS for specific ccTLDs like UK domains (.uk, .co.uk, .wales, .cymru).
How does domain dispute resolution compare to court proceedings?
Domain dispute resolution (UDRP/URS/DRS) provides a cost-effective alternative to multijurisdictional legal proceedings, eliminating the complexity of enforcing court orders across different countries. These administrative procedures are specifically designed for domain disputes and offer faster, more predictable outcomes than traditional litigation. For complex matters requiring court analysis under English law, I provide consultation services at £475 + VAT per hour.
